How We Began

In the early 2000s, Darci went on a vacation to Mexico with  with her three daughters.  While there they encountered stray, malnourished and mangy dogs wandering the streets around the hotel.  As the family looked into it, they found that the surrounding community did not have the money or the resources to treat the sicknesses or humanly control the population.  The decision was quickly made to do something and find a solution to the problem once they got home

This lead to the idea of organizing free spay neuter clinics in destination resort areas to provide humane treatment of animals.  What would it be like to recruit vets and animal professionals to have a working vacation and volunteer to provide spay neuter while there?  What if corporate travel companies were able to help sponsor this kind of event and help in making tourism more sustainable in these vacation destination areas?  Could the locals help in providing much needed services?

With these questions answered and much work in organizing, the journey began.
